First Grade News
Dear Parents,
We hope you had a wonderful weekend!
We are very excited for our final literature celebration this year on Thursday, April 17th! Non-perishable items will be due this Thursday, April 10th.
In Literature, we will continue to read from our classic by Beatrix Potter. We will work on comprehension strategies of retelling, story elements and compare/contrast. In Grammar/Writing, scholars will review the parts of speech and search for nouns in complete sentences.
In Math, we will continue learning how to subtract using renaming. Scholars will take a chapter test on next week as well as the chapter 8 and 9 Cumulative Assessment.
In History we will conclude our unit on the American Revolution. We will learn some important American symbols and take our unit assessment on Wednesday. The study guide will go home on Tuesday. Then we will we will continue the story of our nation as we expand westward into the frontier and wonder of the unknown.
In Science, we will continue learning about healthy habits and learn about important scientists Edward Jenner and Louis Pasteur.
Thank you for your continued partnership in helping your scholar with their reading and homework and to arrive to school on time. Keep up the momentum and have a wonderful week. 😊
