First Grade News
Dear Parents,
We hope you had a wonderful weekend and were able to enjoy some of the activities at the Fall Festival. This is another busy week on campus with Athletic Field Day activities on Wednesday.
In Literature, we will begin our comparison of Cinderella stories from different lands and choose our favorite version. In Grammar & Writing, we will be looking at ideas and feelings that are nouns and introduce Pronouns.
In Math we are continuing Chapter 5 with adding and subtracting 2 digit numbers. We will work on using our double tens frame as a resource. The students will start making a 10 with numberbonds to solve the problems. Making a Ten with Number Bonds.mp4 Copy of Making a Ten.mp4
Please send the classic Frog and Toad All Year with your scholar by next Monday, Nov. 2nd.
In History, we will begin our Early American Settlers Unit on the first colonies of Roanoke, Jamestown and Plymouth, as well as the importance of John Smith and Pocahontas.
