   First Grade News

Dear Parents, 

We hope you had a great weekend! We enjoyed seeing many of our families at family game night on Friday!

In Literature this week, we will begin reading Owl at Home.  Please send in Owl At Home as we will begin reading this classic on Thursday.  We will continue reading some of Aesop's Fables, focusing on  "The Wolf in Sheep's Clothing".  We will learn about the part of speech adjectives and complete a self-portrait.  

In Math, we will continue Chapter 8 with coins. We will continue to use hands on with coins. We will also review numbers to 120. 

In Science, scholars will explore various items to determine whether or not the object is magnetic or non-magnetic. We will discuss different ways things move. 

Our chicks will be visiting First Grade classrooms this week and then make their way to the farm. I'm sure your scholar will be excited to share their observations with you. 

Reading logs are due this Thursday due to the R&R weekend.
