April 8-11th

 First Grade News

Dear Parents,

We hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Just a reminder, if you haven't yet, please send in the classic to keep My Father's Dragon. If you are unable to purchase this classic, please let your scholar's teacher know.

In Literature, we will work on comprehension strategies of retelling, story elements and compare/contrast. We will also learn a new poem, "Merry Sunshine". It will be coming home Wednesday. In Grammar/Writing, scholars will review the parts of speech and search for nouns and verbs in complete sentences.

In Math, we will review the strategies we have learned in chapter 9 and take a test on Friday. A study guide for this test will be coming home Wednesday.

In History, we will review all we have learned about the American Revolution and send a study guide home on Tuesday.  We will continue the study of how our great country grew beyond the 13 original colonies as we expand westward.  We will focus on the trailblazer, Daniel Boone!

In Science, we will review different forms of energy!

Thank you so much for your continued support and partnership.  Have a wonderful week.
