First Grade News
Dear Parents,
We hope you had a great weekend. Happy Homecoming Week! Students may wear a mum and a spirit shirt this Friday to celebrate.
A letter was sent home last week to start bringing in supplies for our Mummy Project: 1 adult-sized shoebox with a lid that is spray painted gold or wrapped in brown or gold paper (wrap lid separately – the box needs to open) and 1 roll of gauze. If you have extra empty toilet paper rolls, we will gladly take those as well! Supplies are due by October 6th.
In Literature, we will begin reading Frog and Toad Together looking at sequencing of narrative texts. In writing/grammar, we will continue our study of nouns; introducing things.
In Math, we will begin Chapter 3: Subtracting within 10.
In History, we will jump right back into Ancient Egypt. We will learn about papyrus, Pharaohs, and the the many gods and goddesses the Egyptians worshipped.
Don't forget that reading logs are due by Monday. Please add up and record the minutes your scholar has read over the course of the week.
Thank you for your partnership and have a blessed week.
